A very elegant and sculptural agave, with no thorns along the smooth leaf margins. Each leaf bears a single terminal thorn that can be cut off with pruners to make the plants safer around walkways or children. With good care, it can grow to over 4' to 6' high and wide and does best in full sun to half-day sun, in a location with good drainage. In fact, this species often looks better in sites with late afternoon shade.  Requires no supplemental irrigation once established, except during prolonged summer droughts.
